ᅟᅟ[[note0#002|一時]],[[note0#003|佛]]在鴦藝村中,與大[[note0#031|比丘]][[note3#375|眾]]五百人俱。
ᅟᅟ爾時,[[note0#012|世尊]]告諸比丘:
ᅟᅟ「諸人民皆稱汝等為[[note0#029|沙門]],設復問:『汝等是沙門乎?』汝等亦言:『是沙門。』吾今告汝:『沙門之行、婆羅門之行[^1],汝等當念[[note0#094|修習]],後必成果,如實不異。』所以然者,有二種沙門:有習行沙門,有誓願沙門。
ᅟᅟ彼云何名為習行沙門?於是,比丘行來、進止、視瞻、容貌、著衣、持鉢,皆悉如法,不著貪欲、瞋恚、愚癡,但持戒精進,不犯非法,等學諸戒,是謂:名為習行沙門。
ᅟᅟ彼云何名誓願沙門?於是,或有比丘[[note2#239|威儀]]、戒律、出入、進止、行步、容貌、視瞻、舉動,皆悉如法,盡[[note2#238|有漏]]成無[[note1#188|漏]],於[[note0#042|現法]]中身得證而[[note0#066|自遊化]]:[[note0#018|生死已盡]],[[note0#019|梵行已立]],[[note0#020|所作已辦]],[[note0#021|更不復受有]],如實知之,是謂:名誓願沙門,是謂,比丘!二種沙門。」
ᅟᅟ爾時,阿難白世尊言:
ᅟᅟ「彼云何名為沙門法行、婆羅門法行?」
ᅟᅟ佛告阿難:
ᅟᅟ「於是,比丘飲食知足,晝夜[[note1#150|經行]],不失時節,行諸道品。
ᅟᅟ云何比丘諸根寂靜?於是,比丘若眼見色,不起想著,興諸亂念,於中,眼根而得清淨,除諸惡念,不念不善之法;若耳聞聲、鼻臭香、舌知味、身知[[note2#220|細滑]]、意知法,不起想著,興諸亂念,於意根而得清淨。如是,比丘根得清淨。
ᅟᅟ云何比丘飲食知足?於是,比丘量腹而食,不求肥白,但欲使此身趣存而已,除去[[note5#536|故痛]],新者不生,得修梵行,猶如男女身生瘡痍,隨時以膏塗瘡,常欲使瘡愈故,今此比丘亦復如是,量腹而食。所以以膏膏車者,欲致遠故,比丘量腹而食者,欲趣存命故也。如是,比丘飲食知足。
ᅟᅟ云何比丘恆知景寤?於是,比丘[[note2#214|初夜]]、後夜恆知景寤,思惟三十七道[品]之法。若晝日經行,除去惡念諸結之想;復於初夜、後夜經行,除去惡結不善之想;復於中夜[[note3#367|右脇著地]],以脚相累,唯[[note5#504|向明之想]];復於後夜,出入經行,除去不善之念。如是,比丘知時景寤。如是,阿難!此是沙門要行。
ᅟᅟ彼云何名婆羅門要行?於是,比丘苦諦如實知之,苦[[note0#067|習]]、苦[[note0#068|盡]]、苦[[note2#294|出要]]如實而知之,後以解此欲漏心、有漏心、[[note3#397|無明漏]]心而得解脫。已得解脫,便得[[note0#027|解脫智]]:『生死已盡,梵行已立,所作已辦,更不復受胎,如實知之。』此名為婆羅門要行之法。阿難當知:此名為要行之義也。」
ᅟᅟ爾時,世尊便說此偈:
ᅟᅟ「沙門名息心,諸惡永已盡,梵志名清淨,除去諸亂想。」
ᅟᅟ「是故,阿難!沙門法行、婆羅門法行,當念修行。其有眾生行此諸法,然後乃稱為沙門。復以何故名為沙門?諸結永息故名為沙門。復以何故名為婆羅門?盡除愚惑之法故名為梵志,亦名為剎利。復以何故名剎利?以其斷淫、怒、癡故名為剎利,亦名為沐浴。以何故名為沐浴?以其洗二十一結故名為沐浴,亦名為覺。以何故名為覺?以其覺了愚法、慧法故名為覺,亦名為[[note2#226|彼岸]]。以何等故名為彼岸?以其從此岸至彼岸故名為彼岸。阿難!能行此法者,然後乃名為沙門、婆羅門。此是其義,當念奉行。」

ᅟᅟ爾時,[[note0#012|世尊]]告諸比丘:
ᅟᅟ「人見汝等沙門是沙門,人問汝等沙門,汝自稱沙門耶?」
ᅟᅟ諸比丘白曰:「爾也,世尊!」
ᅟᅟ佛復告曰:
ᅟᅟ「是以,汝等以此,要以此沙門,當學如沙門法及如梵志法[^1]。學如沙門法及如梵志法已,要是真諦沙門、[[note3#334|不虛]]沙門,若受衣被、飲食、床榻、湯藥及若干種諸生活具者,彼所供給,得大福,得[[note1#113|大果]],得大功德,得大廣報,汝等當學如是。
ᅟᅟ云何如沙門法及如梵志法?[[note4#460|身行]]清淨,仰向[[note4#420|發露]],善護無缺。因此清淨,不自舉,不下他,無穢、無濁,為諸智梵行者所共稱譽。若汝作是念:『我身行清淨,我[[note0#020|所作已辦]],不復更學,已成德義,無復上作。』比丘!我為汝說:『莫令求[[note3#327|沙門義]]失沙門義。』
ᅟᅟ若欲求上學者,比丘若身清淨,當復作何等?當學口行清淨,仰向發露,善護無缺。因此口行清淨,不自舉,不下他,無穢無濁,為諸智梵行者所共稱譽。若汝等作是念:『我身、口行清淨,我所作已辦,不復更學,已成德義,無復上作。』比丘!我為汝說:『莫令求沙門義失沙門義。』
ᅟᅟ若欲求上學者,比丘若身、口清淨,當復作何等?當學[[note2#230|意行]]清淨,仰向發露,善護無缺。因此意行清淨,不自舉,不下他,無穢無濁,為諸智梵行者所共稱譽。若汝等作是念:『我身、口、意行清淨,我所作已辦,不復更學,已成德義,無復上作。』比丘!我為汝說:『莫令求沙門義失沙門義。』
ᅟᅟ若欲求上學者,比丘若身、口、意行清淨,當復作何等?當學命行清淨,仰向發露,善護無缺。因此命行清淨,不自舉,不下他,無穢無濁,為諸智梵行者所共稱譽。若汝等作是念:『我身、口、意、命行清淨,我所作已辦,不復更學,已成德義,無復上作。』比丘!我為汝說:『莫令求沙門義失沙門義。』
ᅟᅟ若欲求上學者,比丘身、口、意、命行清淨,當復作何等?比丘當學[[note4#468|守護諸根]],常念閉塞,念欲明達,守護念心而得成就。恒欲起意:若眼見色,然不受相,亦不味色,謂:忿諍故,守護眼根,心中不生[[note4#435|貪伺]]、憂慼、惡不善法,趣向彼故,守護眼根。如是,耳、鼻、舌、身,若意知法,然,不受相,亦不味法,謂:忿諍故,守護意根,心中不生貪伺、憂慼、惡不善法,趣向彼故,守護意根。若汝等作是念:『我身、口、意、命行清淨,守護諸根,我所作已辦,不復更學,已成德義,無復上作。』比丘!我為汝說:『莫令求沙門義失沙門義。』
ᅟᅟ若欲求上學者,比丘身、口、意、命行清淨,守護諸根,當復作何等?比丘當學正知出入,善觀分別,屈伸低仰,儀容庠序,善著[[note2#270|僧伽梨]]及諸衣鉢,行住坐臥、眠寤語默,皆正知之。若汝等作是念:『我身、口、意、命行清淨,守護諸根,正知出入,我所作已辦,不復更學,已成德義,無復上作。』比丘!我為汝說:『莫令求沙門義失沙門義。』
ᅟᅟ若欲求上學者,比丘身、口、意、命行清淨,守護諸根,正知出入,當復作何等?比丘當學獨住遠離,在[[note1#142|無事處]],或至樹下空安{靖}[靜]處、山巖石室、[[note3#385|露地]]穰𧂐,或至林中,或在塚間。彼已在無事處,或至樹下空安靜處,敷尼師壇,[[note2#240|結跏趺坐]],正身正願,反念不向,斷除貪伺,心無有諍,見他財物、諸生活具不起貪伺,欲令我得,彼[[note4#469|於貪伺淨除其心]]。如是,瞋恚、睡眠、掉悔,斷疑度惑,於諸善法無有猶豫,彼於疑惑淨除其心。
ᅟᅟ彼斷此[[note2#287|五蓋]]:心[[note2#288|穢]]、[[note2#283|慧羸]],離欲、離惡不善之法……至得第四禪[[note0#066|成就遊]]。彼已得如是定心,清淨、無穢、無煩、柔軟、善住、得[[note9#917|不動心]],趣向[[note4#437|漏盡智]]通作證:彼便知此苦如真,知此苦[[note0#067|習]]、知此苦[[note0#068|滅]]、知此苦[[note0#069|滅道]]如真,亦知此漏如真,知此漏集、知此漏滅、知此漏滅道如真。彼如是知、如是見已,則欲漏心解脫,有漏、[[note3#397|無明漏]]心解脫,解脫已,[[note0#027|便知解脫]]:『[[note0#018|生已盡]],[[note0#019|梵行已立]],所作已辦,[[note0#021|不更受有]],知如真。』是說沙門,說梵志,說聖,說淨浴。
ᅟᅟ云何沙門?謂:息止[^2]諸惡不善之法、諸[[note1#188|漏]]穢污為[[note4#497|當來有本]]、煩熱苦報、生老病死因,是謂沙門。
ᅟᅟ云何梵志?謂:遠離諸惡不善之法、諸漏穢污為當來有本、煩熱苦報、生老病死因,是謂梵志。
ᅟᅟ云何為聖?謂:遠離諸惡不善之法、諸漏穢污為當來有本、煩熱苦報、生老病死因,是謂為聖。
ᅟᅟ云何淨浴?謂:淨浴諸惡不善之法、諸漏穢污為當來有本、煩熱苦報、生老病死因,是謂淨浴。
ᅟᅟ是謂沙門,是謂梵志,是謂為聖,是謂淨浴。」
ᅟᅟ佛說如是,彼諸比丘聞佛所說,歡喜奉行。

ᅟᅟ在那裡,世尊召喚[[note0#031|比丘]]們:「比丘們!」
ᅟᅟ「[[note4#480|尊師]]!」那些比丘回答世尊。
ᅟᅟ世尊說這個:
ᅟᅟ「比丘們!人們稱呼你們『[[note0#029|沙門]]、沙門』,而且,當你們被問:『你們是誰?』時,你們自稱:『我們是沙門。』比丘們!當他們這麼稱呼、當你們這麼自稱時,『凡沙門所作與婆羅門所作諸法[^1],我們將[[note5#598|受持後轉起]]那些法,這樣,這對我們的稱呼與我們的自稱將成為真實的事實,且凡我們受用衣服、[[note1#196|施食]]、臥坐處、病人需物、醫藥必需品,在我們上那些作者,他們將有大果、[[note1#113|大效益]],以及我們的這個出家就將是[[note3#334|功不唐捐的]]、有果實的、有結果的。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。(415)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是沙門所作與婆羅門所作諸法?『我們將具備[[note2#250|慚]][[note2#251|愧]]。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,我們的[[note3#327|沙門義]]已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是[[note3#328|沙門性]]希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(416)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?『我們的[[note4#460|身正行]]將成為遍純淨的、明顯的、開顯的、無缺陷的與[[note2#217|自制]]的,而且,以那個遍純淨的身正行,我們將既不讚揚自己,我們也將不輕蔑他人。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(417)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?『我們的語正行將成為遍純淨的、明顯的、開顯的、無缺陷的與自制的,而且,以那個遍純淨的語正行,我們將既不讚揚自己,我們也將不輕蔑他人。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行、遍純淨的語正行,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(418)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?『我們的意正行將成為遍純淨的、明顯的、開顯的、無缺陷的與自制的,而且,以那個遍純淨的意正行,我們將既不讚揚自己,我們也將不輕蔑他人。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行、遍純淨的語正行、遍純淨的意正行,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(419)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?『我們的活命(生計)將成為遍純淨的、明顯的、開顯的、無缺陷的與自制的,而且,以那個遍純淨的活命,我們將既不讚揚自己,我們也將不輕蔑他人。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行、遍純淨的語正行、遍純淨的意正行、遍純淨的活命,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(420)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?比丘們!『我們將成為[[note4#468|在諸根上守護門]]者:以眼見色後,不成為相的執取者、[[note1#197|細相]]的執取者,因那個理由,[[note4#435|貪婪]]、憂諸惡不善法會[[note2#224|流入]]那位住於眼根不防護者,我們走上為了那個的自制之路,我們守護眼根,我們在眼根上來到自制;以耳聽聲音後……以鼻聞氣味後……以舌嚐味道後……以身觸[[note2#220|所觸]]後……以意識知法後,不成為相的執取者、細相的執取者,因那個理由,貪婪、憂諸惡不善法會流入那位住於意根不防護者,我們走上為了那個的自制之路,我們守護意根,我們在意根上來到自制。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行、遍純淨的語正行、遍純淨的意正行、遍純淨的活命,是在諸根上守護門者,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(421)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?『我們將成為在飲食上知適量者:我們將如理省察後吃食物:「既不為了娛樂,也不為了自豪,也不為了裝飾,也[[note5#520|不為了莊嚴]],最多為了這個身體的存續、生存,為了止息傷害,為了資助梵行。像這樣,我們將擊退[[note5#536|之前的感受]],與不使新的感受生起,將有我的生存,與無過失狀態,以及[[note1#156|安樂住]]。」』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行、遍純淨的語正行、遍純淨的意正行、遍純淨的活命,是在諸根上守護門者、在飲食上知適量者,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(422)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?『我們將成為專修清醒者:在白天我們以[[note1#150|經行]]、安坐,將使心[[note9#990|從障礙法]]淨化。在[[note2#214|初夜]],我們以經行、安坐,將使心從障礙法淨化。在中夜,我們[左]腳放在[右]腳上、[[note5#502|作意起來想後]],具念正知地[[note3#367|以右脅作獅子臥]]。在後夜,我們以經行、安坐,將使心從障礙法淨化。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行、遍純淨的語正行、遍純淨的意正行、遍純淨的活命,是在諸根上守護門者、在飲食上知適量者、專修清醒者,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(423)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?『我們將具備念與正知,在前進後退時是[[note5#544|正知的行為者]];在前視環視時是正知的行為者;在[肢體]屈伸時是正知的行為者;在[[note2#270|大衣]]、鉢、衣服的受持時是正知的行為者;在飲、食、嚼、嚐時是正知的行為者;在大小便動作時是正知的行為者;在行、住、坐、臥、清醒、語、默狀態時是正知的行為者。』比丘們!應該被你們這麼學。比丘們!又,你們會這麼想:『我們具備慚愧,我們有遍純淨的身正行、遍純淨的語正行、遍純淨的意正行、遍純淨的活命,是在諸根上守護門者、在飲食上知適量者、專修清醒者,具備念與正知,只這個程度足夠了,只這個程度已作了,沙門義已到達,我們沒有任何更進一步應該被作的。』你們會以就只那個程度來到滿足。比丘們!我使你們告知,比丘們!我使你們知道:『不要當你們是沙門性希求者時,在有更進一步應該被作的上沙門義退失。』(424)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!而哪些是更進一步應該被作的?比丘們!這裡,比丘親近遠離(獨居)的住處:[[note1#142|林野]]、樹下、山岳、洞窟、山洞、墓地、森林、露地、稻草堆。他[[note5#512|餐後已從施食返回]],坐下,[[note2#240|盤腿]]、定置端直的身體、[[note5#529|建立面前的念後]],他捨斷世間中的貪婪,以離貪婪心而住,[[note4#469|使心從貪婪淨化]]。捨斷惡意瞋怒後,住於無瞋害心、對一切[[note4#470|活的生命類有憐愍的]],使心從惡意瞋怒淨化。捨斷惛沈睡眠後,住於離惛沈睡眠的、有[[note5#504|光明想]]的、具念的、正知的,使心從惛沈睡眠淨化。捨斷掉舉後悔後,住於不掉舉的、內心寂靜的,使心從掉舉後悔淨化。捨斷疑惑後,住於度脫疑惑的、在諸善法上無疑的,使心從疑惑淨化。(425)
ᅟᅟ比丘們!猶如男子拿借款後從事諸事業,他的那些事業成功,凡那些舊借款,對那些,他作終結,且更有剩餘的為他妻子的扶養。他這麼想:『我之前拿借款後從事諸事業,那個我的那些事業成功,凡那些舊借款,對那些,那個我作終結,且更有剩餘的為我妻子的扶養。』他從那個因由得到欣悅,到達喜悅。
ᅟᅟ比丘們!猶如男子是生病者、受苦者、重病者,食物不使他喜歡,以及在他的身體中沒有足夠的力氣。他過些時候從那個病被釋放,食物使他喜歡,以及在他的身體中有足夠力氣。他這麼想:『我之前是生病者、受苦者、重病者,食物不使我喜歡,以及在我的身體中沒有足夠的力氣,那個我現在從那個病被釋放,食物使我喜歡,以及在我的身體中有足夠的力氣。』他從那個因由得到欣悅,到達喜悅。
ᅟᅟ比丘們!猶如男子被監禁在監獄中,他過些時候從那個監禁平安地、無恐懼地被釋放,且沒有任何財物的損失,他這麼想:『我之前被監禁在監獄中,那個我現在從那個監禁平安地、無恐懼地被釋放,且沒有任何財物的損失。』他從那個因由得到欣悅,到達喜悅。
ᅟᅟ比丘們!猶如男子是奴隸、非依靠自己者、依靠他人者、非去想要到的地方者,他過些時候從那個奴隸境遇被釋放,是依靠自己者、不依靠他人者、脫離奴隸者、去想要到的地方者,他這麼想:『我之前是奴隸、非依靠自己者、依靠他人者、非去想要到的地方者,那個我現在從那個奴隸境遇被釋放,是依靠自己者、不依靠他人者、脫離奴隸者、去想要到的地方者。』他從那個因由得到欣悅,到達喜悅。
ᅟᅟ比丘們!猶如有財富、有財產的男子走上曠野道路,他過些時候從那個曠野平安地、無恐懼地度脫,沒有任何財物的損失,他這麼想:『有財富、有財產的我之前走上曠野道路,那個我現在從那個曠野平安地、無恐懼地度脫,沒有任何財物的損失。』他從那個因由得到欣悅,到達喜悅。
ᅟᅟ同樣的,比丘們!比丘如借款、如疾病、如監獄、如奴隸、如曠野道路地[這樣-[DN.2](DN02)]看這些在自己上未捨斷的[[note2#287|五蓋]];猶如無借款、如無疾病、如監禁釋放、如脫離奴隸者、如安穩目的地,同樣的,比丘看這些在自己上已捨斷的五蓋。(426)
ᅟᅟ他捨斷這些心的[[note2#288|隨雜染]]、[[note2#283|慧的減弱的]]五蓋後,就從離諸欲後,從離諸不善法後,[[note0#066|進入後住於]][[note1#175|有尋、有伺]],[[note1#174|離而生喜、樂]]的初禪,他以離而生喜、樂就使這個身體滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,他的全身沒有任何不被離而生喜、樂佈滿的。比丘們!猶如[[note8#817|熟練的浴僕]]或浴僕的徒弟在銅皿中撒佈沐浴粉後,以水一一澆注地混合,那個這沐浴粉團成為跟隨濕潤的、到達濕潤的,且內外被濕潤遍佈無漏出。同樣的,比丘們!比丘以離而生喜、樂就使這個身體滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,他的全身沒有任何不被離而生喜、樂佈滿的。(427)
ᅟᅟ再者,比丘們!比丘從尋與伺的平息,[[note2#256|自身內的明淨]],[[note2#255|心的專一性]],進入後住於無尋、無伺,定而生喜、樂的第二禪,他以定而生喜、樂就使這個身體滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,他的全身沒有任何不被定而生喜、樂佈滿的。比丘們!猶如有湧泉的水池,它在東方既沒有水的流入口,在西方也沒有水的流入口,在北方也沒有水的流入口,在南方也沒有水的流入口,而天不經常地給與應時的陣雨,那時,冷水水流就從那個水池湧出後,以冷水使那個水池滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,那個水池沒有任何不被冷水佈滿的。同樣的,比丘們!比丘以定而生喜、樂就使這個身體滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,他的全身沒有任何不被定而生喜、樂佈滿的。(428)
ᅟᅟ再者,比丘們!比丘從喜的[[note0#077|褪去]]、住於[[note2#228|平靜]]、有念正知、以身體感受樂,進入後住於聖者們告知凡那個『平靜的、具念的、[[note3#317|安樂住的]]』第三禪,他以無喜的樂就使這個身體滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,他的全身沒有任何不被無喜的樂佈滿的。比丘們!猶如在青蓮池中,或在紅蓮池中,或在白蓮池中,一些在水中生的、在水中長的、跟隨水沈在裡面養育的青蓮或紅蓮或白蓮,那些從頂端直到根為止被冷水滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,那個全部青蓮或紅蓮或白蓮沒有任何不被冷水佈滿的。同樣的,比丘們!比丘以無喜的樂就使這個身體滿溢、灌滿、充滿、遍滿,他的全身沒有任何不被無喜的樂佈滿的。(429)
ᅟᅟ再者,比丘們!比丘從樂的捨斷與從苦的捨斷,就在之前諸喜悅、憂的滅沒,進入後住於不苦不樂,[[note4#494|平靜、念遍純淨]]的第四禪,他以遍純淨的、皎潔的心就這個身佈滿後而坐,他的全身沒有任何不被遍純淨的、皎潔的心佈滿的。比丘們!猶如男子以白衣包含頭地裹覆後而坐,他的全身沒有任何不被白衣佈滿的。同樣的,比丘們!比丘以遍純淨的、皎潔的心就這個身佈滿後而坐,他的全身沒有任何不被遍純淨的、皎潔的心佈滿的。(430)
ᅟᅟ他在心是這樣入定的、遍純淨的、淨化的、無穢的、離[[note2#288|隨雜染]]的、柔軟的、[[note4#412|適合作業的]]、住立的、到達[[note9#917|不動的]]時,使心轉向前世住處回憶智。他回憶(隨念)許多前世住處,即:一生、二生……(中略)像這樣,回憶許多[[note5#500|有行相的、有境遇的]]前世住處。比丘們!猶如男子從自己的村落走到其它村落,又從那個村落走到其它村落,他從那個村落就返回自己的村落,他這麼想:『我從自己的村落走到那個村落,在那裡這麼站,這麼坐,這麼說,這麼沈默,又從那個村落走到那個村落,又在那裡這麼站,這麼坐,這麼說,這麼沈默,那個我從那個村落就返回自己的村落。』同樣的,比丘們!比丘回憶(隨念)許多前世住處,即:一生、二生……(中略)像這樣,回憶許多有行相的、有境遇的前世住處。(431)
ᅟᅟ他在心是這樣入定的、遍純淨的、淨化的、無穢的、離隨雜染的、柔軟的、適合作業的、住立的、到達不動的時,使心轉向眾生死亡往生智,以清淨、超越常人的天眼看見死沒往生的眾生:下劣的、勝妙的,美的、醜的,善去的、惡去的,知道依業到達的眾生:……(中略)。比丘們!猶如兩間有門的屋舍,在那裡,有眼的男子們站在中間看見進入及離開家屋,散步及漫步的人們。同樣的,比丘們!以清淨、超越常人的天眼看見死沒往生的眾生:下劣的、勝妙的,美的、醜的,善去的、惡去的,知道依業到達的眾生:……(中略)。(432)
ᅟᅟ他在心是這樣入定的、遍純淨的、淨化的、無穢的、離隨雜染的、柔軟的、適合作業的、住立的、到達不動的時,使心轉向[[note4#437|諸漏的滅盡智]]。他如實知道:『這是苦。』如實知道:『這是苦[[note0#067|集]]。』如實知道:『這是苦[[note0#068|滅]]。』如實知道:『這是導向苦[[note0#069|滅道跡]]。』如實知道:『這些是漏。』如實知道:『這是漏集。』如實知道:『這是漏滅。』如實知道:『這是導向漏滅道跡。』當他這樣知、這樣見時,心從欲漏被解脫,心也從有漏被解脫,心也從[[note3#397|無明漏]]被解脫。在解脫時,[[note0#027|有『[這是]解脫』之智]],他知道:『[[note0#018|出生已盡]],[[note0#019|梵行已完成]],[[note0#020|應該被作的已作]],[[note0#021|不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態]]。』
ᅟᅟ比丘們!猶如在山谷中有清澈的、明淨的、不混濁的湖沼,在那裡,在岸邊站立的有眼男子看見牡蠣貝類,及砂礫小石,及行進的停止的魚群,他這麼想:『這個湖沼是清澈的、明淨的、不混濁的,在那裡,有這些牡蠣貝類,及砂礫小石,及行進的停止的魚群。』同樣的,比丘們!他如實知道:『這是苦。』……(中略)『……不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態。』(433)

ᅟᅟ “Seyyathāpi bhikkhave, puriso dāso assa anattādhīno parādhīno na yenakāmaṃgamo. So aparena samayena tamhā dāsabyā mucceyya attādhīno aparādhīno bhujisso yenakāmaṃgamo. Tassa evamassa– ‘ahaṃ kho pubbe dāso ahosiṃ anattādhīno parādhīno na yenakāmaṃgamo, somhi etarahi tamhā dāsabyā mutto attādhīno aparādhīno bhujisso yenakāmaṃgamo’ti. So tatonidānaṃ labhetha pāmojjaṃ, adhigaccheyya somanassaṃ.
ᅟᅟ “Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, puriso sadhano sabhogo kantāraddhānamaggaṃ paṭipajjeyya. So aparena samayena tamhā kantārā nitthareyya sotthinā abbhayena, na cassa kiñci bhogānaṃ vayo. Tassa evamassa– ‘ahaṃ kho pubbe sadhano sabhogo kantāraddhānamaggaṃ paṭipajjiṃ. Somhi etarahi tamhā kantārā nitthiṇṇo sotthinā abbhayena, natthi ca me kiñci bhogānaṃ vayo’ti. So tatonidānaṃ labhetha pāmojjaṃ, adhigaccheyya somanassaṃ.
ᅟᅟ “Evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu yathā iṇaṃ yathā rogaṃ yathā bandhanāgāraṃ yathā dāsabyaṃ yathā kantāraddhānamaggaṃ, ime pañca nīvaraṇe appahīne attani samanupassati. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, āṇaṇyaṃ yathā ārogyaṃ yathā bandhanāmokkhaṃ yathā bhujissaṃ yathā khemantabhūmiṃ; evameva bhikkhu ime pañca nīvaraṇe pahīne attani samanupassati.
ᅟᅟ 427. “So ime pañca nīvaraṇe pahāya cetaso upakkilese paññāya dubbalīkaraṇe, vivicceva kāmehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi, savitakkaṃ savicāraṃ vivekajaṃ pītisukhaṃ paṭhamaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. So imameva kāyaṃ vivekajena pītisukhena abhisandeti parisandeti paripūreti parippharati, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa vivekajena pītisukhena apphuṭaṃ hoti. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, dakkho nhāpako vā nhāpakantevāsī vā kaṃsathāle nhānīyacuṇṇāni ākiritvā udakena paripphosakaṃ paripphosakaṃ sanneyya. Sāyaṃ nhānīyapiṇḍi snehānugatā snehaparetā santarabāhirā, phuṭā snehena na ca pagghariṇī. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu imameva kāyaṃ vivekajena pītisukhena abhisandeti parisandeti paripūreti parippharati, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa vivekajena pītisukhena apphuṭaṃ hoti.
ᅟᅟ 428. “Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vitakkavicārānaṃ vūpasamā ajjhattaṃ sampasādanaṃ cetaso ekodibhāvaṃ avitakkaṃ avicāraṃ samādhijaṃ pītisukhaṃ dutiyaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. So imameva kāyaṃ samādhijena pītisukhena abhisandeti parisandeti paripūreti parippharati, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa samādhijena pītisukhena apphuṭaṃ hoti. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, udakarahado ubbhidodako. Tassa nevassa puratthimāya disāya udakassa āyamukhaṃ, na pacchimāya disāya udakassa āyamukhaṃ, na uttarāya disāya udakassa āyamukhaṃ, na dakkhiṇāya disāya udakassa āyamukhaṃ, devo ca na kālena kālaṃ sammādhāraṃ anuppaveccheyya. Atha kho tamhāva udakarahadā sītā vāridhārā ubbhijjitvā tameva udakarahadaṃ sītena vārinā abhisandeyya parisandeyya paripūreyya paripphareyya, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato udakarahadassa sītena vārinā apphuṭaṃ assa. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu imameva kāyaṃ samādhijena pītisukhena abhisandeti parisandeti paripūreti parippharati, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa samādhijena pītisukhena apphuṭaṃ hoti.
ᅟᅟ 429. “Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu pītiyā ca virāgā upekkhako ca viharati, sato ca sampajāno, sukhañca kāyena paṭisaṃvedeti, yaṃ taṃ ariyā ācikkhanti– ‘upekkhako satimā sukhavihārī’ti tatiyaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. So imameva kāyaṃ nippītikena sukhena abhisandeti parisandeti paripūreti parippharati, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa nippītikena sukhena apphuṭaṃ hoti. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, uppaliniyaṃ vā paduminiyaṃ vā puṇḍarīkiniyaṃ vā appekaccāni uppalāni vā padumāni vā puṇḍarīkāni vā udake jātāni udake saṃvaḍḍhāni udakānuggatāni antonimuggaposīni, tāni yāva caggā yāva ca mūlā sītena vārinā abhisannāni parisannāni paripūrāni paripphuṭāni, nāssa kiñci sabbāvataṃ uppalānaṃ vā padumānaṃ vā puṇḍarīkānaṃ vā sītena vārinā apphuṭaṃ assa. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu imameva kāyaṃ nippītikena sukhena abhisandeti parisandeti paripūreti parippharati, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa nippītikena sukhena apphuṭaṃ hoti.
ᅟᅟ 430. “Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sukhassa ca pahānā dukkhassa ca pahānā, pubbeva somanassadomanassānaṃ atthaṅgamā, adukkhamasukhaṃ upekkhāsatipārisuddhiṃ catutthaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. So imameva kāyaṃ parisuddhena cetasā pariyodātena pharitvā nisinno hoti nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa parisuddhena cetasā pariyodātena apphuṭaṃ hoti. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, puriso odātena vatthena sasīsaṃ pārupetvā nisinno assa, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa odātena vatthena apphuṭaṃ assa. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu imameva kāyaṃ parisuddhena cetasā pariyodātena pharitvā nisinno hoti, nāssa kiñci sabbāvato kāyassa parisuddhena cetasā pariyodātena apphuṭaṃ hoti.
ᅟᅟ 431. “So evaṃ samāhite citte parisuddhe pariyodāte anaṅgaṇe vigatūpakkilese mudubhūte kammaniye ṭhite āneñjappatte pubbenivāsānussatiñāṇāya cittaṃ abhininnāmeti. So anekavihitaṃ pubbenivāsaṃ anussarati, seyyathidaṃ– ekampi jātiṃ, dvepi jātiyo …pe… iti sākāraṃ sa-uddesaṃ anekavihitaṃ pubbenivāsaṃ anussarati. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, puriso sakamhā gāmā aññaṃ gāmaṃ gaccheyya, tamhāpi gāmā aññaṃ gāmaṃ gaccheyya, so tamhā gāmā sakaṃyeva gāmaṃ paccāgaccheyya. Tassa evamassa– ‘ahaṃ kho sakamhā gāmā amuṃ gāmaṃ agacchiṃ, tatrapi evaṃ aṭṭhāsiṃ evaṃ nisīdiṃ evaṃ abhāsiṃ evaṃ tuṇhī ahosiṃ; tamhāpi gāmā amuṃ gāmaṃ agacchiṃ, tatrapi evaṃ aṭṭhāsiṃ evaṃ nisīdiṃ evaṃ abhāsiṃ evaṃ tuṇhī ahosiṃ; somhi tamhā gāmā sakaṃyeva gāmaṃ paccāgato’ti. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu anekavihitaṃ pubbenivāsaṃ anussarati, seyyathidaṃ– ekampi jātiṃ dvepi jātiyo …pe… iti sākāraṃ sa-uddesaṃ anekavihitaṃ pubbenivāsaṃ anussarati.

ᅟᅟ “Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, pabbatasaṅkhepe udakarahado accho vippasanno anāvilo. Tattha cakkhumā puriso tīre ṭhito passeyya sippisambukampi sakkharakathalampi macchagumbampi, carantampi tiṭṭhantampi. Tassa evamassa– ‘ayaṃ kho udakarahado accho vippasanno anāvilo. Tatrime sippisambukāpi sakkharakathalāpi macchagumbāpi carantipi tiṭṭhantipīti Evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu ‘idaṃ dukkhan’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti …pe… nāparaṃ itthattāyāti pajānāti.
