ᅟᅟ「[[note0#031|比丘]]們!有這八種布施的往生,哪八種?比丘們!這裡,某人對[[note0#029|沙門]]或[[note0#017|婆羅門]]施與布施:食物、飲料、衣服、交通工具、花環、香料、塗油、臥床、房舍、燈燭,他凡施與,期待那個。他看見賦有、擁有[[note1#187|五種欲]]自娛的大財富[[note1#116|剎帝利]]或大財富婆羅門或大財富[[note1#103|屋主]],他這麼想:『啊!願我以身體的崩解,死後往生大財富剎帝利或大財富婆羅門或大財富屋主們的共住狀態。』他安置那個心、決意那個心、[[note0#094|修習]]心,他的那個在下劣的上{解脫}[勝解]的、更上的未修習的心在那裡轉起往生,他以身體的崩解,死後往生大財富剎帝利或大財富婆羅門或大財富屋主們的共住狀態。而我說那是對持戒者,非對破戒者,比丘們!持戒者的心誓願以清淨性成功。
ᅟᅟ比丘們!又,這裡,某人對沙門或婆羅門施與布施:食物、飲料、衣服、交通工具、花環、香料、塗油、臥床、房舍、燈燭,他凡施與,期待那個。被他聽聞:『四大王天的天神們是長壽的、美貌的、多安樂的。』他這麼想:『啊!願我以身體的崩解,死後往生四大王天的天神們的共住狀態。』他安置那個心、決意那個心,修習那個心,他的那個在下劣的上{解脫}[勝解]的、更上的未修習的心在那裡轉起往生,他以身體的崩解,死後往生四大王天的天神們的共住狀態,而我說那是對持戒者,非對破戒者,比丘們!持戒者的心誓願以清淨性成功。

ᅟᅟ 35. “Aṭṭhimā, bhikkhave, dānūpapattiyo. Katamā aṭṭha? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco dānaṃ deti samaṇassa vā brāhmaṇassa vā annaṃ pānaṃ vatthaṃ yānaṃ mālāgandhavilepanaṃ seyyāvasathapadīpeyyaṃ. So yaṃ deti taṃ paccāsīsati. So passati khattiyamahāsāle vā brāhmaṇamahāsāle vā gahapatimahāsāle vā pañcahi kāmaguṇehi samappite samaṅgībhūte paricārayamāne. Tassa evaṃ hoti– ‘aho vatāhaṃ kāyassa bhedā paraṃ maraṇā khattiyamahāsālānaṃ vā brāhmaṇamahāsālānaṃ vā gahapatimahāsālānaṃ vā sahabyataṃ upapajjeyyan’ti! So taṃ cittaṃ dahati, taṃ cittaṃ adhiṭṭhāti, taṃ cittaṃ bhāveti. Tassa taṃ cittaṃ hīne vimuttaṃ, uttari abhāvitaṃ, tatrūpapattiyā saṃvattati.
