ᅟᅟ於是,尊者大目揵連、尊者大迦葉、尊者大迦旃延、尊者阿那律陀過夜平旦,往詣尊者舍梨子所。尊者阿難遙見彼諸尊往已,白曰: ᅟᅟ「賢者離越哆!當知此尊者大目揵連、尊者大迦葉、尊者大迦旃延、尊者阿那律陀過夜平旦,往詣尊者舍梨子所。賢者離越哆!今可共彼諸尊往詣尊者舍梨子所,儻能因彼從尊者舍梨子少多聞法。」 ᅟᅟ於是,尊者大目揵連、尊者大迦葉、尊者大迦旃延、尊者阿那律陀、尊者離越哆、尊者阿難過夜平旦,往詣尊者舍梨子所。 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子遙見彼諸尊來已,尊者舍梨子因彼諸尊故說: ᅟᅟ「尊者舍梨子!若有比丘逮得天眼,成就天眼,於千世界彼少方便須臾盡見。尊者舍梨子!猶有目人住高樓上,於下[[note3#385|露地]]有千土墼,彼少方便須臾盡見。尊者舍梨子!如是,若有比丘逮得天眼,成就天眼,於千世界彼少方便須臾盡見。尊者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子復問曰: ᅟᅟ「賢者迦旃延!賢者阿那律陀比丘已說隨所知,我今復問賢者迦旃延,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天花。賢者迦旃延!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?」 ᅟᅟ尊者大迦旃延答曰: ᅟᅟ「尊者舍梨子!猶二比丘法師共論甚深[[note4#417|阿毘曇]],彼所問事,善解悉知,答亦無礙,說法辯捷。尊者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子復問曰: ᅟᅟ「尊者大迦葉!賢者迦旃延比丘已說隨所知,我今復問尊者大迦葉,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。尊者大迦葉!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?」 ᅟᅟ尊者大迦葉答曰: ᅟᅟ「賢者舍梨子!若有比丘自[[note1#142|無事]]稱說無事,自有少欲稱說少欲,自有知足稱說知足,自樂在遠離獨住稱說樂在遠離獨住,自修行精勤稱說修行精勤,自立正念、正智稱說立正念、正智,自得定稱說得定,自有智慧稱說智慧,自諸[[note1#188|漏]]已盡稱說諸漏已盡,自勸發渴仰成就歡喜稱說勸發渴仰成就歡喜。賢者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子復問曰: ᅟᅟ「賢者目揵連!尊者大迦葉已說隨所知,我今復問賢者目揵連,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。賢者目[揵]連!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?」 ᅟᅟ尊者大目揵連答曰: ᅟᅟ「尊者舍梨子!若有比丘有[[note4#405|大如意足]],有大威德,有大福祐,有大威神,自在無量[[note5#503|如意足]]。彼行無量如意足:變一為眾,合眾為一,一則住一,有知有見,徹過石壁,如空無礙,出入於地,猶若如水,履水如地而不陷沒,上昇虛空,[[note2#240|結跏趺坐]],猶若如鳥,今此日月有大如意足,有大威德,有大福祐,有大威神,以手[[note6#607|捫摸]],身至梵天,尊者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。」 ᅟᅟ尊者大目揵連問曰: ᅟᅟ「尊者舍梨子!我及諸尊已各自說隨其所知,我今問尊者舍梨子,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。尊者舍梨子!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子答曰: ᅟᅟ「賢者目揵連!若有比丘隨用心自在而不隨心,彼若欲得隨所[[note4#487|住止]],中前遊行,即彼住止中前遊行;彼若欲得隨所住止,日中、[[note0#091|晡時]]遊行,即彼住止日中、晡時遊行。賢者目揵連!猶王、王臣,衣服甚多,有若干種雜妙色衣,彼若欲得中前著者即取著之,彼若欲得日中、晡時著者即取著之。賢者目揵連!如是,若有比丘隨用心自在而不隨心,彼若欲得隨所住止,中前遊行,即彼住止中前遊行;彼若欲得隨所住止,日中、晡時遊行,即彼住止日中、晡時遊行。賢者目揵連!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子告曰: ᅟᅟ「賢者目揵連!我及諸賢已各自說隨其所知,賢者目揵連!我等寧可共彼諸賢往詣佛所,向論此事,於中知誰最為善說?」 ᅟᅟ於是,尊者舍梨子、尊者大目揵連、尊者大迦葉、尊者大迦旃延、尊者阿那律陀、尊者離越哆、尊者阿難往詣佛所,諸尊者等[[note0#040|稽首佛足]],卻坐一面。尊者阿難亦稽首佛足,卻住一面。 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子白曰: ᅟᅟ「世尊!今日賢者大目揵連、尊者大迦葉、賢者迦旃延、賢者阿那律陀、賢者離越哆、賢者阿難過夜平旦,來詣我所。我遙見彼諸賢來已,因彼諸賢故說:『善來!賢者阿難!善來!阿難!善來!阿難!世尊侍者解世尊意,常為世尊之所稱譽,及諸智梵行人,我今問賢者阿難,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。賢者阿難!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?』賢者阿難即答我曰:『尊者舍梨子!若有比丘廣學多聞,守持不忘,積聚博聞,所謂法者,初妙、中妙、竟亦妙,有義、有文,具足清淨顯現梵行。如是,諸法廣學多聞,翫習至千,意所惟觀,明見深達,彼所說法簡要捷疾,與正相應,欲斷諸結。尊者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。』」 ᅟᅟ「世尊!賢者阿難如是說已,我復問曰:『賢者離越哆!賢者阿難比丘已說隨所知,我今復問賢者離越哆,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。賢者離越哆!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?』賢者離越哆即答我曰:『尊者舍梨子!若有比丘樂於燕坐,內行止,不廢坐禪,成就於觀,常好閑居,喜安{靖}[靜]處。尊者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。』」 ᅟᅟ世尊歎曰: ᅟᅟ「善哉!善哉!舍梨子!如離越哆比丘所說,所以者何?離越哆比丘常樂坐禪。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子白曰: ᅟᅟ「世尊!賢者離越哆如是說已,我復問曰:『賢者阿那律陀!賢者離越哆比丘已說隨所知,我今復問賢者阿那律陀,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。賢者阿那律陀!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?』賢者阿那律陀即答我曰:『尊者舍梨子!若有比丘逮得天眼,成就天眼,於千世界彼少方便須臾盡見。尊者舍梨子!猶有目人住高樓上,於下露地有千土墼,彼少有方便須臾盡見。尊者舍梨子!如是,若有比丘逮得天眼,成就天眼,於千世界微少方便須臾盡見。尊者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。』」 ᅟᅟ世尊歎曰: ᅟᅟ「善哉!善哉!舍梨子!如阿那律陀比丘所說,所以者何?阿那律陀比丘成就天眼。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子白曰: ᅟᅟ「世尊!賢者阿那律陀如是說已,我復問曰:『賢者迦旃延!賢者阿那律陀比丘已說隨所知,我今復問賢者迦旃延,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。賢者迦旃延!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?』賢者迦旃延即答我曰:『尊者舍梨子!猶二比丘法師共論甚深阿毘曇,彼所問事,善解悉知,答亦無礙,說法辯捷。尊者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。』」 ᅟᅟ世尊歎曰: ᅟᅟ「善哉!善哉!舍梨子!如迦旃延比丘所說,所以者何?迦旃延比丘分別法師。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子白曰: ᅟᅟ「世尊!賢者迦旃延如是說已,我復問曰:『尊者大迦葉!賢者迦旃延比丘已說隨所知,我今復問尊者大迦葉,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。尊者大迦葉!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?』尊者大迦葉即答我曰:『賢者舍梨子!若有比丘自無事稱說無事,自有少欲稱說少欲,自有知足稱說知足,自樂在遠離獨住稱說樂在遠離獨住,自修行精勤稱說修行精勤,自立正念、正智稱說立正念、正智,自得定稱說得定,自有智慧稱說{知}[智?]慧,自諸漏已盡稱說諸漏已盡,自勸發渴仰成就歡喜稱說勸發渴仰成就歡喜。賢者舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。』」 ᅟᅟ世尊歎曰: ᅟᅟ「善哉!善哉!舍梨子!如迦葉比丘所說,所以者何?迦葉比丘常行無事。」 ᅟᅟ尊者舍梨子白曰: ᅟᅟ「世尊!我及諸尊如是說已,便白尊者舍梨子曰:『尊者舍梨子!我及諸尊已各自說隨其所知,我今問尊者舍梨子,此牛角娑羅林甚可愛樂,夜有明月,諸娑羅樹皆敷妙香,猶若天華。尊者舍梨子!何等比丘起發牛角娑羅林?』尊者舍梨子即答我曰:『賢者目揵連!若有比丘隨用心自在而不隨心,彼若欲得隨所住止,中前遊行,即彼住止中前遊行;彼若欲得隨所住止,日中、晡時遊行,即彼住止日中、晡時遊行。賢者目揵連!猶王、王臣,衣服甚多,有若干種雜妙色衣,彼若欲得中前著者即取著之,彼若欲得日中、晡時著者即取著之。賢者目揵連!如是,若有比丘隨用心自在而不隨心,彼若欲得隨所住止,中前遊行,即彼住止,中前遊行;彼若欲得隨所住止,日中、晡時遊行,即彼住止,日中、晡時遊行。賢者目揵連!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。』」 ᅟᅟ世尊歎曰: ᅟᅟ「善哉!善哉!目揵連!如舍梨子比丘所說,所以者何?舍梨子比丘隨用心自在。」 ᅟᅟ於是,尊者舍梨子即從{坐}[座]起,偏袒著衣,叉手向佛,白曰: ᅟᅟ「世尊!我及諸賢如是說已,告曰:『賢者目揵連!我及諸賢已各自說隨其所知。賢者目揵連!我等寧可共彼諸賢往詣佛所,向論此事,於中知誰最為善說?』世尊!我等誰為善說耶?」 ᅟᅟ世尊答曰: ᅟᅟ「舍梨子!一切悉善,所以者何?此諸法者,盡我所說。舍梨子!聽我所說,如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林:舍梨子!若有比丘隨所依住城郭村邑,彼過夜平旦,著衣持鉢,入村[[note0#087|乞食]],善守護身,善斂諸根,善立其念。彼乞食已,過日中後,收舉衣鉢,澡洗手足,以尼師壇著於肩上,或至無事處,或至樹下,或至空安{靖}[靜]處,敷尼師壇,結跏趺坐,不解結跏趺坐乃至[[note1#188|漏]]盡,彼便不解結跏趺坐乃至漏盡。舍梨子!如是比丘起發牛角娑羅林。」 ᅟᅟ諸[[note5#503|神足]]高德[[note0#031|比丘]],賢者舍利弗、賢者大目乾連、賢者迦葉、賢者離越、賢者阿難等五百人俱。是時,大目乾連、大迦葉、阿那律晨旦至舍利弗所,然阿難遙見三大[[note1#117|聲聞]]詣舍利弗所,語離越言: ᅟᅟ「三大聲聞往至舍利弗[所],我等二人亦可往至舍利弗所,所以然者,備聞舍利弗說奇妙之法。」 ᅟᅟ離越報曰:「此事可然。」 ᅟᅟ是時,離越、阿難往至舍利弗所。 ᅟᅟ是時,舍利弗言: ᅟᅟ「[[note1#132|善來]]!諸賢!就此處坐。」 ᅟᅟ是時,舍利弗語阿難曰: ᅟᅟ「我今欲有所問:『此牛師子園極為快樂,自然天香流布四遠,云何當使此園快樂?』」 ᅟᅟ阿難報曰: ᅟᅟ「若有比丘多有所聞不忘,[[note4#486|總持]]諸法[[note0#081|義]][[note0#082|味]],具足修行[[note3#381|梵行]],如此諸法皆悉具足,亦不漏脫,與四部之眾而為說法,不失次第,亦不卒暴,無有亂想,如是比丘在此牛師子園快樂。」 ᅟᅟ是時,舍利弗語離越言: ᅟᅟ「阿難今日{以}[已]演說之,我今復欲問汝義:牛師子園快樂如是,汝今次說,義復云何?」 ᅟᅟ離越報曰: ᅟᅟ「於是,比丘樂閑靜之處,思惟坐禪,與{正}[止]、[[note1#178|觀]]相應,如是比丘樂牛師子園中。」 ᅟᅟ是時,[[note2#200|尊者]]舍利弗語阿那律曰: ᅟᅟ「汝今當說悅樂之義。」 ᅟᅟ阿那律報曰: ᅟᅟ「若有比丘天眼徹視,觀眾生類死者、生者,善色、惡色,[[note1#112|善趣]]、[[note1#110|惡趣]],若好、若醜,皆悉知之,或有眾生身、口、意行惡,誹謗賢聖,身壞命終生地獄中,或復有眾生身、口、意行善,不誹謗賢聖,猶如[[note1#163|士夫]]觀空中,靡不備悉,有天眼比丘亦復如是,觀[諸]世界無有疑難,如是比丘在牛師子園中快樂如是也。」 ᅟᅟ是時,舍利弗語迦葉曰: ᅟᅟ「我今語汝,如是諸賢{以}[已]說快樂之義,汝今次應說之。」 ᅟᅟ迦葉報曰: ᅟᅟ「若有比丘行[[note1#142|阿練若]]行,復教他人使行阿練若,歎說閑靜之德;己身著補納之衣,復教他[人]使行[[note2#249|頭陀]];身自知足在閑居之處,復教他人使修其行;己身戒德具足:[[note1#182|三昧]]成就、智慧成就、解脫成就、[[note0#027|解脫見慧]]成就,復教他人使行其法;歎說其法已能勸化,復教他人使行其法,教訓無厭足,如是比丘在牛師子園中快樂無比。」 ᅟᅟ爾時,尊者舍利弗語大目連曰: ᅟᅟ「諸賢聖{以}[已]說快樂之義,汝今次說快樂之義。牛師子園中快樂無雙,汝今欲云何說之?」 ᅟᅟ目連報曰: ᅟᅟ「於是,比丘有大神足,於神足而得自在,彼能變化無數千事而無疑難,亦能分一身作無數身,或復還合為一,石壁皆過,踊沒自在,亦如{駛}[駃?]河,猶如飛鳥在空中無跡,譬如暴火燌燒山野,亦如日月靡所不照,亦能舉手摩抆日月,亦能化身至梵天上,如此比丘宜牛師子園中。」 ᅟᅟ是時,目連語舍利弗曰: ᅟᅟ「我等各隨其辯而說之,我等今問舍利弗義,牛師子園極為快樂,何等比丘宜在其中?」 ᅟᅟ舍利弗言: ᅟᅟ「若有比丘能降心,然,彼心不能降比丘,設彼比丘欲得三昧,即時彼比丘能得三昧,隨意遠近成三昧者,即能成辦之,猶如[[note0#060|長者]]家有好衣,盛著箱篋,爾時彼長者隨意欲取何等衣,隨意取之而無疑難,亦能隨意入三昧中,此亦如是,心能使比丘,非比丘能使心,隨意入三昧亦無疑難,如是比丘能使心,非心使比丘,如是之人宜在牛師子園中。」 ᅟᅟ是時,舍利弗告諸賢曰: ᅟᅟ「我等隨其辯而說,各隨方宜,善說此義。今各相將往問世尊,云何比丘得樂此牛師子園?若世尊有所說,我等當奉行。」 ᅟᅟ諸比丘報曰:「如是,舍利弗!」 ᅟᅟ是時,大聲聞等各各相將往至[[note0#004|如來]]所。到已,[[note0#040|頭面禮足]],在一面坐。爾時,大聲聞以此因緣具白佛。爾時,世尊告曰: ᅟᅟ「[[note0#044|善哉]]!如阿難所說。所以然者,阿難比丘聞法能持,總攝諸法,具足修行梵行。如此之法,善聞不忘,亦無邪見,與四部之眾而說法,言不錯亂,亦不卒暴。 ᅟᅟ離越比丘所說亦復快哉!所以然者,樂閑靜之處,不處人間,常念坐禪,無有諍訟,與止觀相應,閑居寂寞。 ᅟᅟ阿那律比丘亦復快哉!所以然者,阿那律比丘天眼第一,彼以天眼觀三千世界,猶如有眼之人,掌中觀珠,阿那律比丘亦復如是,彼以天眼觀此三千大千世界而無疑難。 ᅟᅟ今迦葉比丘亦復快哉!所以然者,迦葉比丘己身是阿練若行,復能歎說閑居之行;身能[[note0#087|乞食]],復能歎譽乞食之德;身著[[note3#352|補納衣]],復能歎說補納衣之德;己身知足,復能歎說知足之德;己身處巖穴,復[能]歎說巖穴之德;己身戒成就、三昧成就、智慧成就、解脫成就、解脫見慧成就,復能教人成此五分法身;身能教化,復能教人使行其法。 ᅟᅟ善哉!善哉!如目連所說,所以然者,目連比丘有大威力,神足第一,心得自在,彼意欲所為,則能[成]辦之,或化一身,分為萬億,或還合為一,石壁皆過,無有罣礙,踊沒自在,亦如駛水亦無觸礙,如空中之鳥亦無足跡,猶如日月靡所不照,能化身乃至梵天。 ᅟᅟ善哉!如舍利弗之所說,所以然者,舍利弗能降伏心,非心能降伏舍利弗,若欲入三昧時,則能成辦無有疑難,猶如長者好衣裳,隨意取之而無疑難。舍利弗比丘亦復如是,能降伏心,非心能降伏舍利弗,隨意入三昧,皆悉在前。
