ᅟᅟ住在舍衛城。
ᅟᅟ那時,[[note1#116|剎帝利]]黑齒[[note0#031|比丘]]去見[[note2#200|尊者]]舍利弗。抵達後,與尊者舍利弗一起互相問候。交換應該被互相問候的友好交談後,在一旁坐下。在一旁坐下的剎帝利黑齒比丘對尊者舍利弗說這個:
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗[[note2#201|學友]]!摩利亞帕辜那比丘放棄學後還俗。」「因為那位尊者確實沒在這法與律中得到穌息。」「那樣的話,尊者舍利弗在這法與律中已達到穌息?」
ᅟᅟ「學友!我不懷疑。」
ᅟᅟ「學友!那麼,未來?」
ᅟᅟ「學友!我不疑惑。」
ᅟᅟ那時,剎帝利黑齒比丘從座位起來後去見世尊。抵達後,向世尊[[note0#046|問訊]]後,在一旁坐下。在一旁坐下的剎帝利黑齒比丘對世尊說這個:
ᅟᅟ「[[note0#045|大德]]![[note4#489|完全智]]被尊者舍利弗[[note1#179|記說]]:『我了知:「[[note0#018|出生已盡]],[[note0#019|梵行已完成]],[[note0#020|應該被作的已作]],[[note0#021|不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態]]。」』」
ᅟᅟ那時,世尊召喚某位比丘:「來!比丘!請你以我的名義召喚舍利弗:『舍利弗學友![[note1#145|大師]]召喚你。』」
ᅟᅟ「是的,大德!」那位比丘回答世尊後,去見尊者舍利弗。抵達後,對尊者舍利弗說這個:「舍利弗學友!大師召喚你。」
ᅟᅟ「是的,學友!」尊者舍利弗回答那位比丘後,去見世尊。抵達後,向世尊問訊後,在一旁坐下。世尊對在一旁坐下的尊者舍利弗說這個:
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!傳說是真的?完全智被你記說:『我了知:「出生已盡,梵行已完成,應該被作的已作,不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態。」』」
ᅟᅟ「大德!事情不被這些詞句、這些文句說。」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!凡[[note0#041|善男子]]以任何方式記說完全智,那時,所記說的應該從記說被看見。」
ᅟᅟ「大德!我也說這個:『大德!事情不被這些詞句、這些文句說。』不是嗎?」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!如果他們這麼問你:『舍利弗學友!當怎樣知又怎樣見時,完全智被你記說:「我了知:『出生已盡,梵行已完成,應該被作的已作,不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態。』呢?」』舍利弗!被這麼問,你應該怎麼回答?」
ᅟᅟ「大德!如果他們這麼問我:『舍利弗學友!當怎樣知又怎樣見時,完全智被你記說:「我了知:『出生已盡,梵行已完成,應該被作的已作,不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態。』呢?」』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答:『學友!凡出生的因緣,以那個因緣的滅盡,在已盡時,「我是已盡者[^1]」被知道,知道「我是已盡者」後,我了知:「出生已盡,梵行已完成,應該被作的已作,不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態。」』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答。」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!那麼,如果他們這麼問你:『舍利弗學友!那麼,生,什麼為因?什麼為集?什麼生的?[[note6#668|什麼為根源]]?』舍利弗!被這麼問,你應該怎麼回答?」
ᅟᅟ「大德!如果我被這麼問:『舍利弗學友!那麼,生,什麼為因?什麼為集?什麼生的?什麼為根源?』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答:『學友!生,有為因,有為集,有生的,有為根源。』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答。」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!那麼,如果他們這麼問你:『舍利弗學友!那麼,有,什麼為因?什麼為集?什麼生的?什麼為根源?』舍利弗!被這麼問,你應該怎麼回答?」
ᅟᅟ「大德!如果我被這麼問:『舍利弗學友!那麼,有,什麼為因?什麼為集?什麼生的?什麼為根源?』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答:『學友!有,取為因,取為集,取生的,取為根源。』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答。」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!那麼,如果他們這麼問你:『舍利弗學友!那麼,取……(中略)』」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!那麼,如果他們這麼問你:『舍利弗學友!那麼,渴愛,什麼為因?什麼為集?什麼生的?什麼為根源?』舍利弗!被這麼問,你應該怎麼回答?」
ᅟᅟ「大德!如果我被這麼問:『舍利弗學友!那麼,渴愛,什麼為因?什麼為集?什麼生的?什麼為根源?』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答:『學友!渴愛,受為因,受為集,受生的,受為根源。』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答。」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!那麼,如果他們這麼問你:『舍利弗學友!那麼,當你怎樣知又怎樣見時,在諸受上的歡喜它不出現?』舍利弗!被這麼問,你應該怎麼回答?」
ᅟᅟ「大德!如果我被這麼問:『舍利弗學友!那麼,當你怎樣知又怎樣見時,在諸受上的歡喜它不出現?』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答:『學友!有這三受,哪三個?樂受、苦受、不苦不樂受。學友!這三受是無常的,「凡是無常的,那個是苦的」被知道,凡在諸受上的歡喜它不出現。』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答。」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!好!好!舍利弗!這也是就這件事情以簡要記說的方式:『凡任何受,它是在苦中。』
ᅟᅟ舍利弗!那麼,如果他們這麼問你:『舍利弗學友!那麼,從怎樣的解脫而完全智被你記說:「出生已盡,梵行已完成,應該被作的已作,不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態。」呢?』舍利弗!被這麼問,你應該怎麼回答?」
ᅟᅟ「大德!如果我被這麼問:『舍利弗學友!那麼,從怎樣的解脫而完全智被你記說:「出生已盡,梵行已完成,應該被作的已作,不再有此處[輪迴]的狀態。」呢?』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答:『學友!從自身內的解脫[^2],從一切執取的滅盡,我像這樣具念地住,當那樣具念地住時,諸[[note1#188|漏]]不隨流出,而且我不輕蔑自己。』大德!被這麼問,我應該這麼回答。」
ᅟᅟ「舍利弗!好!好!舍利弗!這也是就這件事情以簡要記說的方式:『凡被[[note0#029|沙門]]說的諸漏,在那些上我不懷疑,「那些被我捨斷」我不疑惑。』」
ᅟᅟ世尊說這個。世尊說這個後,從座位起來後進入住處。
ᅟᅟ在那裡,當世尊離開不久,尊者舍利弗召喚比丘們:
ᅟᅟ「學友們!世尊對我問之前沒經歷的第一個問題,那個我有遲鈍。學友們!但當世尊對我歡喜第一個問題,學友們!那個我想這個:『即使世尊對我整日以各種詞句、[[note0#082|各種法門]]問這件事情,我對世尊也整日以各種詞句、各種法門回答這件事情;即使世尊對我整夜以各種詞句、各種法門問這件事情,我對世尊也整夜以各種詞句、各種法門回答這件事情;即使世尊對我整日夜以各種詞句、各種法門問這件事情,我對世尊也整日夜以各種詞句、各種法門回答這件事情;即使世尊對我二日夜……問這件事情……(中略)我對世尊也二日夜……回答這件事情……(中略)即使世尊對我三日夜……問這件事情……(中略))我對世尊也三日夜……回答這件事情……(中略)即使世尊對我四日夜……問這件事情……(中略))我對世尊也四日夜……回答這件事情……(中略)即使世尊對我五日夜……問這件事情……(中略))我對世尊也五日夜……回答這件事情……(中略)即使世尊對我六日夜……問這件事情……(中略))我對世尊也六日夜……回答這件事情……(中略)即使世尊對我七日夜以各種詞句、各種法門問這件事情,我對世尊也七日夜以各種詞句、各種法門回答這件事情。』」
ᅟᅟ那時,剎帝利黑齒比丘從座位起來後去見世尊。抵達後,向世尊問訊後,在一旁坐下。在一旁坐下的剎帝利黑齒比丘對世尊說這個:
ᅟᅟ「大德!尊者舍利弗吼獅子吼:『學友們!世尊對我問之前沒經歷的第一個問題,那個我有遲鈍。學友們!但當世尊對我歡喜第一個問題,學友們!那個我想這個:「即使世尊對我整日以各種詞句、各種法門問我這件事情,我也對世尊整日以各種詞句、各種法門回答這件事情;即使整夜……(中略)即使世尊整日夜對我……(中略)即使世尊兩日夜對我……(中略)三……四……五……六……(中略)即使世尊對我七天七夜以各種詞句、各種法門問這件事情,我也對世尊七天七夜以各種詞句、各種法門回答這件事情。」』」

ᅟᅟ 32. Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati. Atha kho kaḷārakhattiyo bhikkhu yenāyasmā sāriputto tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā āyasmatā sāriputtena saddhiṃ sammodi. Sammodanīyaṃ kathaṃ sāraṇīyaṃ vītisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho kaḷārakhattiyo bhikkhu āyasmantaṃ sāriputtaṃ etadavoca– “moḷiyaphagguno, āvuso sāriputta, bhikkhu sikkhaṃ paccakkhāya hīnāyāvattoti. Na hi nūna so āyasmā imasmiṃ dhammavinaye assāsamalatthāti. Tena hāyasmā sāriputto imasmiṃ dhammavinaye assāsaṃ patto”ti?
ᅟᅟ “Na khvāhaṃ, āvuso, kaṅkhāmī”ti. “Āyatiṃ, panāvuso”ti?
ᅟᅟ “Na khvāhaṃ, āvuso, vicikicchāmī”ti.
ᅟᅟ Atha kho kaḷārakhattiyo bhikkhu uṭṭhāyāsanā yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho kaḷārakhattiyo bhikkhu bhagavantaṃ etadavoca– “āyasmatā, bhante, sāriputtena aññā byākatā– ‘khīṇā jāti, vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ, kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ, nāparaṃ itthattāyā’ti pajānāmī”ti.
ᅟᅟ Atha kho bhagavā aññataraṃ bhikkhuṃ āmantesi– “ehi tvaṃ, bhikkhu, mama vacanena sāriputtaṃ āmantehi– ‘satthā taṃ, āvuso sāriputta, āmantetī’”ti “Evaṃ, bhante”ti kho so bhikkhu bhagavato paṭissutvā yenāyasmā sāriputto tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā āyasmantaṃ sāriputtaṃ etadavoca– “satthā taṃ, āvuso sāriputta, āmantetī”ti. “Evaṃ, āvuso”ti kho āyasmā sāriputto tassa bhikkhuno paṭissutvā yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinnaṃ kho āyasmantaṃ sāriputtaṃ bhagavā etadavoca– “saccaṃ kira tayā, sāriputta, aññā byākatā– ‘khīṇā jāti, vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ, kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ, nāparaṃ itthattāyā’ti pajānāmī”ti? “Na kho, bhante, etehi padehi etehi byañjanehi attho vutto”ti. “Yena kenacipi, sāriputta, pariyāyena kulaputto aññaṃ byākaroti, atha kho byākataṃ byākatato daṭṭhabban”ti. “Nanu ahampi bhante, evaṃ vadāmi– ‘na kho, bhante, etehi padehi etehi byañjanehi attho vutto’”ti.
ᅟᅟ “Sace taṃ, sāriputta, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘kathaṃ jānatā pana tayā, āvuso sāriputta, kathaṃ passatā aññā byākatā– khīṇā jāti vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ nāparaṃ itthattāyāti pajānāmī’ti. Evaṃ puṭṭho tvaṃ, sāriputta, kinti byākareyyāsī”ti?
ᅟᅟ “Sace maṃ, bhante, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘kathaṃ jānatā pana tayā, āvuso sāriputta, kathaṃ passatā aññā byākatā– khīṇā jāti vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ nāparaṃ itthattāyāti pajānāmī’ti; evaṃ puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyaṃ– ‘yaṃnidānā, āvuso, jāti, tassa nidānassa khayā khīṇasmiṃ khīṇāmhīti viditaṃ. Khīṇāmhīti viditvā– khīṇājāti vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ nāparaṃ itthattāyāti pajānāmī’ti. Evaṃ puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyan”ti.

ᅟᅟ “Sace pana taṃ, sāriputta, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘upādānaṃ panāvuso …pe… sace pana taṃ, sāriputta, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– taṇhā panāvuso sāriputta, kiṃnidānā kiṃsamudayā kiṃjātikā kiṃpabhavā’ti? Evaṃ puṭṭho tvaṃ, sāriputta, kinti byākareyyāsī”ti? “Sace maṃ, bhante, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– taṇhā panāvuso sāriputta, kiṃnidānā kiṃsamudayā kiṃjātikā kiṃpabhavā’ti? Evaṃ puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyaṃ– ‘taṇhā kho, āvuso, vedanānidānā vedanāsamudayā vedanājātikā vedanāpabhavā’ti. Evaṃ puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyan”ti.
ᅟᅟ “Sace pana taṃ, sāriputta, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘kathaṃ jānato pana te, āvuso sāriputta, kathaṃ passato yā vedanāsu nandī sā na upaṭṭhāsī’ti. Evaṃ puṭṭho tvaṃ, sāriputta, kinti byākareyyāsī”ti? “Sace maṃ, bhante, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘kathaṃ jānato pana te, āvuso sāriputta, kathaṃ passato yā vedanāsu nandī sā na upaṭṭhāsī’ti evaṃ puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyaṃ – ‘tisso kho imā, āvuso, vedanā. Katamā tisso? Sukhā vedanā, dukkhā vedanā, adukkhamasukhā vedanā. Imā kho, āvuso, tisso vedanā aniccā. Yadaniccaṃ taṃ dukkhanti viditaṃ, yā vedanāsu nandī sā na upaṭṭhāsī’ti. Evaṃ, puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyan”ti.
ᅟᅟ “Sādhu sādhu, sāriputta. Ayampi kho, sāriputta, pariyāyo, etasseva atthassa saṃkhittena veyyākaraṇāya– ‘yaṃ kiñci vedayitaṃ taṃ dukkhasmin’”ti.
ᅟᅟ “Sace pana taṃ, sāriputta, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘kathaṃ vimokkhā pana tayā, āvuso sāriputta, aññā byākatā– khīṇā jāti vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ nāparaṃ itthattāyāti pajānāmī’ti? Evaṃ puṭṭho tvaṃ, sāriputta, kinti byākareyyāsī”ti? “Sace maṃ, bhante, evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘kathaṃ vimokkhā pana tayā, āvuso sāriputta, aññā byākatā khīṇā jāti vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ nāparaṃ itthattāyāti pajānāmī’ti. Evaṃ puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyaṃ– ‘ajjhattaṃ vimokkhā khvāhaṃ, āvuso, sabbupādānakkhayā tathā sato viharāmi yathā sataṃ viharantaṃ āsavā nānussavanti, attānañca nāvajānāmī’ti. Evaṃ puṭṭhohaṃ, bhante, evaṃ byākareyyan”ti.
ᅟᅟ “Sādhu sādhu, sāriputta. Ayampi kho sāriputta, pariyāyo etasseva atthassa saṃkhittena veyyākaraṇāya– ye āsavā samaṇena vuttā tesvāhaṃ na kaṅkhāmi, te me pahīnāti na vicikicchāmī”ti. Idamavoca bhagavā. Idaṃ vatvā sugato uṭṭhāyāsanā vihāraṃ pāvisi.
ᅟᅟ Tatra kho āyasmā sāriputto acirapakkantassa bhagavato bhikkhū āmantesi– “pubbe appaṭisaṃviditaṃ maṃ, āvuso, bhagavā paṭhamaṃ pañhaṃ apucchi, tassa me ahosi dandhāyitattaṃ. Yato ca kho me, āvuso, bhagavā paṭhamaṃ pañhaṃ anumodi, tassa mayhaṃ, āvuso, etadahosi– divasaṃ cepi maṃ bhagavā etamatthaṃ puccheyya aññamaññehi padehi aññamaññehi pariyāyehi, divasampāhaṃ bhagavato etamatthaṃ byākareyyaṃ aññamaññehi padehi aññamaññehi pariyāyehi. Rattiṃ cepi maṃ bhagavā etamatthaṃ puccheyya aññamaññehi padehi aññamaññehi pariyāyehi, rattimpāhaṃ bhagavato etamatthaṃ byākareyyaṃ aññamaññehi padehi aññamaññehi pariyāyehi. Rattindivaṃ cepi maṃ bhagavā etamatthaṃ puccheyya aññamaññehi padehi aññamaññehi pariyāyehi rattindivampāhaṃ bhagavato etamatthaṃ byākareyyaṃ aññamaññehi padehi aññamaññehi pariyāyehi.
